Michele Taras started out as an internationally acclaimed photographer, exhibiting in galleries, winning top international photography contests and publishing in books and fashion magazines.
Then the year she turned 50, which is a turning point in one's life, she began soul-searching and evaluating what she really wanted to do, and what would give value to her life. And the answer was PAINT!!!
In her first 5 months of painting she sold 10 pieces, had a canvas selected in a gallery juried show, and was invited by a local restaurant to display her work. Her painting style has been compared to Picasso and Maud Lewis. Her style is art naïve with a hint of abstract and contemporary. They are fun and colourful and add life and vivacity to the room in which they hang.
