Saroj (Water Lily)
This is a 4 – panel mixed media artwork inspired primarily by natural elements. Each panel contains different tones of wilderness, which when combined together offer a modern and immersive experience.
Bhatt began the creative process by designing the artwork digitally using software, ensuring precise composition and detailing. Once the design was finalized, it was printed onto canvases, providing a strong foundation for the next steps. To introduce texture and intricacy, Bhatt incorporated crosshatch thread work using a machine, adding a tactile quality that enhances the overall depth of the piece. The large lotus element in the artwork was crafted with fabric stitching, giving it a unique dimensionality and a striking contrast against the printed background. To further enrich the piece, Bhatt applied block painting & knife painting with bright colors, strategically adding depth and vibrancy to specific areas. This technique not only makes the artwork more dynamic but also highlights key elements, creating a visually engaging interplay of texture, fabric, and color.
